An Awesome Christmas Thought for 2009

An Awesome Christmas Thought for 2009 by Dr.Diane M. Hoffmann
One of the exciting discoveries I found from compiling the book "Horizontal Chronology of the Four Gospels" was that, after all the events of the four gospels have been placed in chronological order, the very first page of the four gospels begins with: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. "The same was in the beginning with God. "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. "In him was life; and the life was the light of men. "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." (John 1, verses 1 to 5) There is always a thrill and excitement in reading the Living Word of God. Every time you read it, there is new revelation, new understanding, new facets for meditation. Well as much as I was astounded by the revelation of the chronological order of the four gospels placing John 1 at the very first page of the records of the three year mission of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I heard another amazing truth, just recently, from a Christian source that escapes my memory. We all know whom John is speaking about as the Word in that passage. Well, change that word to "Jesus" and see the whole new significance of the passage: "In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. Jesus was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Jesus; and without Jesus was not any thing made that was made. In Jesus was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." Wow! That is the One whose birth we celebrate at Christmas. Immanuel - God with us! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! God giving Himself, in human form, as the ultimate sacrifice to save you and me in reconciliation to God. May your Christmas this year be very special. May God bestow upon you divine Revelation -- and, if you don't know Him personally, may you receive His free Gift of Salvation!
